What You’ll Do:
As a Payments Officer, you will execute payments via SWIFT, SEPA, and other routes, handle weekly reconciliation and monitoring of bank transactions, and ensure timely, accurate processing to avoid backlogs. You will coordinate with departments and financial institutions to monitor transfers, provide documentation, and resolve issues. Additionally, you will respond to vendor inquiries, update vendor information, perform reconciliations, and prepare cash flow and payment reports as requested by the Finance & Accounting Manager under the supervision of the Financial Controller. You will also perform other assigned banking and payments-related tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Responsible for executing payments via SWIFT, SEPA and other routes on the online platforms of the various financial institutions the organisation collaborates with.
- Responsible for the weekly reconciliation, processing, and monitoring of bank transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payments and avoidance of any payment backlog.
- Coordinate with the various departments within the organisation either regionally or at the organisation’s headquarters for the timely, accurate and complete implementation of the various payments.
- Communicate with the various financial institutions for the monitoring of transfers and balances, the provision of supporting documentation for any inward or outward transfers as well as the resolution of any payment-related matters.
- Responding to vendors’ inquiries and resolving their pending cases in terms of payment-related matters.
- Updating and entering vendor account information in the company’s records, systems and databases.
- Performance of vendor reconciliations via the organisation’s accounting software and in communication with the vendors’ accounts team prior to the execution of payments.
- Prepare detailed cash flow management and other payment-related reports as requested by the Finance & Accounting Manager under the supervision of the Financial Controller, highlighting key insights and data.
- Perform any other banking and payments related work as assigned by the Finance & Accounting Manager under the supervision of the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field
- Previous relevant experience in a Banking/ Payment Institution/ EMI will be considered an advantage.
- Computer literate, with very good knowledge of MS Excel.
- Excellent oral and written command of English language
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
