About the Role:
We are a busy and vibrant restaurant in the heart of Limassol, dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences. We are seeking a diligent, reliable, and hard-working Kitchen Cleaner to join our back-of-house team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our kitchen and dishwashing areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our chefs and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing & Pot Washing: Operate commercial dishwashers efficiently. Manually wash pots, pans, baking sheets, and kitchen utensils, ensuring they are spotlessly clean and ready for use.
- Deep Cleaning: Perform deep cleaning of all kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, hoods, and work surfaces, according to daily and weekly schedules.
- Floor & Surface Care: Sweep and mop kitchen floors thoroughly at the end of each shift. Wipe down walls, shelves, and storage areas.
- Waste Management: Properly dispose of kitchen waste, separate recycling, and ensure bins are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Storage & Organization: Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Keep the dishwashing area, storage rooms, and back areas neatly organized.
- Team Support: Support chefs and kitchen porters with basic tasks as needed (e.g., peeling vegetables, moving supplies).
- Health & Safety: Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations (as per Cypriot law). Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions.
What We Are Looking For:
- Legal Right to Work: This is an essential prerequisite for application. Candidates must hold a valid European Union passport, a Cyprus residency permit (ΙΔ.Τ.Μ.Υ.), or an officially recognized Refugee ID. Applications from individuals who cannot provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the Republic of Cyprus will not be considered.
- Previous experience in a similar role (kitchen cleaner, dishwasher, steward) in a hotel, restaurant, or cafeteria is a strong advantage but not mandatory – full training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, hot, and demanding environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (like crates and pots), and perform repetitive tasks.
- A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Good teamwork skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
- Reliability and punctuality are absolutely essential.
- Good knowledge of Greek is required; basic English or Russian is a significant plus for our multicultural team.
