What You’ll Do:
A Head of Compliance for a CySEC-registered firm you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive compliance program that adheres to CySEC regulations, relevant EU directives, and anti-money laundering (AML) laws. Key duties include developing and updating policies, conducting risk assessments and audits, monitoring daily activities, training employees, and ensuring all company activities, especially marketing, are compliant. This role also involves preparing and submitting required reports to CySEC and advising senior management and the Board of Directors on regulatory matters.
What We’re Looking For:
Regulatory Framework & Oversight
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Regulatory Compliance Program, including policies, procedures, manuals, monitoring plans, and internal controls.
- Ensure continuous compliance with CySEC directives, MiFID II conduct of business rules, investor protection requirements, and general AML/CTF obligations.
- Lead and perform compliance risk assessments, internal audits, and thematic reviews, assessing the effectiveness of control frameworks.
- Oversee investigations of potential regulatory breaches, mis-selling, client issues, conduct breaches, or operational lapses.
Regulatory Reporting & Interaction
- Prepare and submit all regulatory compliance reports, returns, thematic review responses, and official correspondence to CySEC.
- Act as the primary liaison with CySEC for compliance-related matters.
- Provide regular reports and updates to Senior Management and the Board of Directors on compliance performance, risks, and developments.
Monitoring & Governance
- Oversee the monitoring of daily regulatory compliance activities, including conduct-of-business checks, client communication reviews, personal accounts dealing monitoring, and conflicts-of-interest management.
- Approve marketing materials, website content, and client-facing communications to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Oversee implementation of regulatory change, interpreting new requirements and coordinating business-wide adjustments.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and oversee the Compliance team to ensure consistency, professional development, and high standards of work.
- Collaborate with other departments (AML, Back office, Customer Support, Risk, Legal, Operations, Dealing, Marketing) to ensure cohesive compliance integration.
- Ensure the independence of the Compliance function and unrestricted access to information, staff, and systems.
Training & Culture
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs aimed at reinforcing regulatory culture and awareness across the organization.
- Promote an environment of high ethical standards and regulatory diligence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Should have 5+ years of relevant experience in Compliance roles under CySEC regulation
- Holder of the CySEC Advanced Certificate and/or AML Certification
- In-depth knowledge of CySEC regulations, MiFID II guidelines, AMLD regulations, and applicable EU financial legislation.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory audits, inspections, and reporting obligations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple regulatory deliverables.
- Sound judgment and risk-based decision-making.
- Effective communication with regulators, auditors, and senior stakeholders.
Working Schedule:
Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00 Onsite.
