Dart Recruitment, on behalf of our client, a well established and growing hospitality group operating luxury hotels and resorts in the Famagusta district, is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic hospitality environment and wants to play a key role in financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, and business performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate accounting records for all hotel operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, events, and ancillary revenue streams
• Process invoices, payments, accruals, and expenses in accordance with company procedures and accounting standards
• Perform daily revenue reconciliations between PMS, POS systems, cash transactions, credit card payments, and third-party booking platforms
• Conduct bank, supplier, and payment service provider reconciliations
• Prepare weekly revenue reports and provide management with accurate financial information
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports related to hotel performance
• Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Monitor departmental costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost control
• Support stock control procedures and inventory valuation for food, beverages, operating supplies, and housekeeping items
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations
• Manage petty cash reconciliations and reporting
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial controls are followed
• Conduct fixed asset verification and stocktaking procedures when required
• Lead, support, and develop junior members of the finance team
• Allocate tasks and monitor deadlines to ensure regulatory and internal reporting requirements are met
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
• Previous experience within the hospitality or hotel industry will be considered a strong advantage
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost control
• Experience preparing VAT returns and handling tax compliance matters
• Experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of PMS and POS systems will be considered an advantage
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to commute to Ayia Napa and Larnaca according to operational requirements
