About the Department

The Department of Electromechanical Services (EMS) is a government department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of the Republic of Cyprus. It is responsible for the planning, design, execution and maintenance of government electromechanical installations, as well as the purchase and administration of public machinery, vehicles and equipment.

Main roles & activities

• Planning, design and supervision of electromechanical installations in government projects
• Maintenance and operation of government buildings, machinery, vehicles and equipment
• Implementation and enforcement of technical legislation related to public safety
• Licensing and control of electrical and mechanical services businesses and professionals
