Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator Welder
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator Welder to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment, fabricating components, and carrying out high-quality welding and workshop tasks. This role involves working on a wide variety of machinery including hydraulic cylinders, gearboxes, electric motors, and custom-fabricated assemblies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:
· Mechanical Fitting & Assembly – Diagnose mechanical faults on a range of industrial machinery & components. Strip, repair, and assemble hydraulic cylinders, gearboxes, pumps, and rotating equipment. Fit bearings, seals, shafts, and mechanical components to precise tolerances. Carry out general mechanical maintenance and repair tasks. Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, DTI, etc.) for accurate fitting.
· Fabrication & Welding – Read & interpret fabrication drawings and engineering schematics. Fabricate steel components including frames, brackets, guards, platforms, and custom parts. Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, Stainless Steel (is a must) welding to a high standard.
· Machining Support (as applicable) – Work with machinists to prepare components for turning, milling or boring. Carry out basic machining operations if required (e.g drilling, tapping surface prep)
· Workshop & Field Service Work – Attend site jobs for mechanical repairs, fabrication tasks, or equipment removal/installation. Remove and install motors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems safely. Follow proper lifting and rigging procedures when handling heavy components.
· Quality & Testing – Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with engineering tolerances and safety standards. Conduct pressure testing, alignment checks, and operational testing when required. Document completed work accurately on job cards or digital systems.
· Health, Safety & General Responsibilities – Follow all workshop health & safety procedures, including proper PPE. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Operate tools, machines, and equipment safely and responsibly. Assist with general workshop duties as part of the engineering team.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, fabricator or welder (industrial setting preferred).
· Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
· Competent in MIG/TIG/Stick welding and metal fabrication techniques.
· Strong mechanical understanding, fault-finding skills, and hands-on experience with machinery.
· Familiarity with hydraulics, gearboxes, motors, and rotating equipment is an advantage.
· Good problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
· Valid driver’s license preferred; willingness to attend site work when required.
Working Hours:
Monday-Friday 8am – 4.30am.
Some Saturdays required 7.30am – 11.30am (Paid at an overtime rate) Knowledge of Greek and English Language
