Responsible for overall hotel cost accounting, reporting, and relevant record-keeping in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall cost accounting and reporting of the hotel, ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Maintains detailed and accurate cost records and ensures regular updates of master cost files and recipes.
- Updates and circulates purchase price comparisons, cost reports, and sales statistics while highlighting any significant cost variances or supplier non-compliance.
- Performs daily random audits on receiving reports and purchase orders to investigate price and quantity discrepancies, reporting any unresolved issues immediately to the Assistant Financial Controller.
- Performs monthly cost centre reviews, highlighting departments exceeding budget and recommending purchasing or operational changes to control spending.
- Oversees and coordinates monthly and ad-hoc inventory counts for food, beverage, operating equipment, and general stores, ensuring inventory is accurately reconciled and properly recorded.
- Inputs all food, beverage, and non-food product receipts into the inventory and recipe database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- LCCI certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and trustworthiness.
