Responsibilities
- Navigation equipment trouble shooting, operational and service support
- Evaluation of lowest cost failure rectification
- –1st and 2nd Level technical and operational support to vessels for all types and brands of: RADAR, ECDIS, Echosounder, AIS, VDR/S-VDR, Speedlog, Gyro, BNWAS, Autopilot & Steering Systems, MF/HF, INM-C, VHF, UHF, EPIRB, NAVTEX ,SART
Arranging PSA Activations/Deactivations and filing of records all vessels
• Setting up and supporting Fleet Tracking System
• Providing SSAS configuration and tests all vessels
• Filling-in Radio Station License (RSL) Applications
• Filling-in Shore Based Maintenance (SBM) Applications
• Filling-in AAIC applications (SARF)
• Ensuring central filing of all records of activity and correspondence
• Conducting of communication briefing for new Captains
• Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System
• Effectively implementing the Company’s Management System
• Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures
• Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement
• Participating in Navcom Meetings twice a week
Covering individually assigned jobs to:
– Providing full range of NAVCOM support for all vessels
– Providing Dry-Dock project management and assistance for NavCom projects
– Checking, approving, and filing of Equipment & Spare Part Invoices all vessels
– Checking, approving, and filing of Equipment Service Invoices all vessels
The Navigation Officer is accountable to the NAVCOM Manager.
Requirements
• Technical university degree and/or at least two years relevant work experience
• Very good IT skills
• Very good technical skills and detailed knowledge of NAVCOM equipment
• Good knowledge of manufacturer and service provider networks
• Good expertise in trouble shooting and failure analysis
• Good command of the English language
• Good organisational skills and teamwork abilities
