Responsibilities
• Drafting and reviewing all types of corporate documents and agreements, including, but not limited to, resolutions, minutes, powers of attorney,Memorandum & Articles of Association, Shareholders’ Agreements, Share Purchase Agreements, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, etc.
• Drafting and reviewing of any type of commercial contracts and other legal instruments
• Undertaking corporate procedures with the Department of the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property (Cyprus) and communicating, liaising with or attending the said Department
• Studying and familiarising with existing and new legislation and providing coherent and comprehensive legal advice to clients
• Drafting legal opinions on corporate, commercial, regulatory and other legal matters
• Legal research on case law and statutes of Cyprus, UK and EU legislation
• Applying AML, KYC and GDPR procedures in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations
• Acting as a focal point of contact, particularly for key clients
• Developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients
• Attending meetings with clients in Cyprus or abroad
• Representing the Firm at professional, promotional and networking events and conferences in Cyprus or abroad
• Guiding clients through governmental and regulatory procedures and communicating, liaising with or attending relevant authorities, including but not limited to: Cyprus Immigration authorities, Department of Lands and Surveys, Tax Department, Labour Office, CySEC,Cyprus Stock Exchange, Banks in Cyprus or abroad
• Collaborating with the Firm’s legal team on corporate and commercial matters
• Undertaking any other responsibilities relevant to the corporate and commercial legal practice of the Firm
• Contributing articles and other publications for the Firm’s website, newsletters and other legal or professional publications
• Actively participating in and contributing to the Firm’s strategic planning and marketing activities.
The seniority of the position will be determined according to the Firm’s defined career path following an assessment of the candidate’s experience, knowledge, competencies and abilities.
Requirements
• At least five (5) years of post-qualification experience in the corporate and commercial sector
• LLB (Bachelor of Laws) with a minimum grade of 2.1 (upper second) or equivalent
• LL.M. (Master of Laws) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered an advantage
• Cyprus Bar Association License
• Fluent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and oral. Additional languages will be considered an advantage
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite
