What You’ll Do:
The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role in supporting the Compliance Function of the Company by providing regulatory advice, performing compliance monitoring activities, overseeing regulatory projects and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Company's compliance framework.
The role requires an experienced professional capable of operating independently, challenging business decisions where appropriate and acting as a trusted advisor to Senior Management on regulatory and compliance matters.
The successful candidate will have broad exposure across all areas of the Compliance Function and will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory governance and conduct across the organisation.
This position offers significant exposure to all aspects of the Compliance Function and is designed to provide the successful candidate with a clear pathway towards future progression into managerial and approved person positions within the Compliance Function, subject to performance, experience and business requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
Regulatory Advisory & Compliance Oversight
• Provide regulatory advice and guidance to Senior Management and business units on applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor developments in regulatory frameworks, including CySEC, ESMA, MiFID II, AML and other relevant legislation.
• Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and strategic initiatives.
• Provide independent challenge and oversight over business activities and proposed initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing the Company's compliance framework and governance arrangements.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on regulatory matters.
Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP)
• Perform Compliance Monitoring Programme reviews and controls testing.
• Conduct thematic reviews and risk-based assessments.
• Monitor adherence to internal policies and procedures.
• Prepare compliance review reports and recommendations.
• Track and monitor remediation actions and management responses.
• Assist in the preparation of reports to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
Communications Monitoring
• Conduct communications monitoring reviews.
• Review marketing communications, website content and promotional materials.
• Assess compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Investigate potential breaches and escalate findings where necessary.
• Support the ongoing enhancement of the Communications Monitoring Framework.
Regulatory Reporting & Governance
• Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and notifications.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory requests and inspections.
• Maintain compliance registers and regulatory records.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to Senior Management, Board Committees and regulators.
• Support the management of regulatory projects and strategic initiatives.
Investigations & Advisory
• Conduct compliance investigations and fact-finding exercises.
• Assist in the assessment and reporting of incidents, breaches and conflicts of interest.
• Prepare investigation summaries and recommendations.
• Participate in root cause analysis and remediation initiatives.
Policies & Procedures
• Draft, review and update policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Assist in the ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks.
• Ensure that internal documentation remains aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Training & Culture
• Deliver compliance guidance and awareness sessions to employees.
• Promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organisation.
• Support cross-functional training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in internal committees and strategic projects.
• Support the Compliance Officer in the execution of the Compliance Function.
• Act as deputy to the Compliance Officer where required.
• Mentor and support junior members of the department.
• Perform any additional duties reasonably assigned by management.
Qualifications:
•University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or another relevant discipline.
•Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Risk, Regulatory Affairs or Financial Services.
•Previous experience within a CySEC regulated environment is essential.
•Holder of the CySEC Advanced Certificate and CySEC AML Certificate.
•Professional qualifications such as ICA, ACAMS, CISI, LLB, LLM or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
