Main duties:
- Lead risk-based internal-audit engagements from planning through reporting for regulated financial institutions.
- Develop audit programmes, testing procedures and complete working papers.
- Assess governance, risk-management and internal-control frameworks and test compliance with legislation and industry practice.
- Interview senior management and control functions; perform walkthroughs, control testing and detailed assessments.
- Identify control weaknesses, operational risks, regulatory breaches and process-improvement opportunities.
- Prepare concise, board-ready reports and practical risk-based recommendations.
- Present findings to boards, audit committees and senior management and maintain strong client relationships.
- Keep current with CySEC, CBC, MiFID II, AIFMD, MiCA and related regulatory developments.
- Support improvement of internal-audit methodologies and standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in internal audit, risk advisory, regulatory compliance, financial-services consulting or a regulated financial-services environment.
- Experience auditing regulated institutions such as CIFs, AIFMs, funds, EMIs, payment institutions, banks or CASPs, including work in an audit, consulting or professional-services firm.
- Knowledge of CySEC regulations, MiFID II, AIFMD, MiCA, AML legislation, IPPF and risk-based auditing.
- Experience preparing reports for boards and audit committees.
- ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIA, CISA, CAMS or CFA is a significant advantage.
- Regulatory liaison experience with CySEC, CBC, EBA or ESMA is an advantage.
- Excellent report writing, analytical thinking, organisation, communication and Microsoft Office skills.
