Operating hours:

3. Salary: Annual Salary: The salary depends on the contract, the hours to be worked and on the
qualifications.
Level 1 Unqualified: minimum €12.22 per hour, plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
Level 2 Qualified: minimum €12.72 per hour, plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
4. Hours per week: 30 hours per week or less than 30 or Zero Hours. Depending on business needs.

ABOUT THE JOB
Episkopi Primary School is looking to appoint warm, caring and professional individuals to take up the
role of Learning Support Assistant (LSA) posts within our Primary School setting. We value the role
of LSAs in our school and recognise that our team of highly effective and committed staff play an
instrumental role in supporting our children to grow in confidence, independence and academic
learning.
The role of LSA is crucial to ensuring our children receive the best educational offer and outcomes.
If successful, you will be deployed on supporting classes or children across our school. You will
work alongside a supportive teaching team to support and deliver learning activities to individuals or
groups or to support whole class teaching. You will also support our children to engage in positive
play and brunch times and additional enrichment and learning activities.
We believe strongly in staff development and would strongly encourage you to take up the
opportunities available for professional development. Some of these may be run by our team of
experienced staff whilst others may be externally delivered.
Eligibility - Are you eligible to apply?

employment Status Stamp. If you are yet to receive your status stamp, please

Essential & Desirable Criteria for the Role

Essential
1. You must undergo and pass as security & police check. For UKFMs that will be found
successful on this advert and who have lived on island for longer than 18 months, will be
requested to provide a Clean Criminal Record and a Sex Offenders Certificate issued by
the Republic of Cyprus.
2. All candidates who have lived in the UK, must undergo and pass an Enhanced Disclosure
and Barring Service (DBS).
3. As part of the Safer Recruitment process, successful candidates must provide, upon
employment, clean criminal records from all countries they have lived in the last 5 years.

7. Candidates must complete the Self Declaration form related to criminal convictions
background. Any information disclosed on the Self Declaration form will not automatically

8. Awareness of Data Protection practices and importance to protect the personal information
of children and vulnerable adults.

10. The ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing is an essential part of
this role.
Desirable
11. GCSE or Equivalent Maths & English Grade C or above (essential for a qualified post).

Official Language
The official language of the Sovereign Base Areas is English and consequently English is the
official language of British Forces Cyprus and Sovereign Base Areas Administration. All
documents are to be completed in this language. All employees of the Sovereign Base Areas
Administration and British Forces Cyprus are expected to have a basic command of the
English language as a pre-requisite for employment.

Brief Description of Role
To support and assist the staff and school with the educational and pastoral needs of the children.
To share in the corporate responsibility for the discipline and wellbeing of all children, and to
ensure the health and safety of everyone in the school environment – referring to the school’s
SHEF documentation for guidance. To follow the Safeguarding procedures as detailed in the
school policy.
