Essential & Desirable Criteria for the Role
Important Note: Details on the role can be found on the Job Description which is at the end
of this document. These criteria are part of the assessment criteria and will influence the
decision on whether your application will proceed to the next stage.
Essential 1. UK NMC Registered Nurse (Adult)
2. Current or recent DPHC or NHS Primary Health Care Experience within the
last two years
3. Recent experience of primary care out of hours triage and or unscheduled
care provision
4. Math and English Grades A-C or equivalent
5. You must undergo and pass as security & police check. If you are found
successful, you will be requested to provide a Clean Criminal Record and a
Sex Offenders Certificate issued by the Republic of Cyprus. For UKFMs that
will be found successful on this advert and who have lived on island for
longer than 18 months, will be requested to provide a Clean Criminal Record
and a Sex Offenders Certificate issued by the Republic of Cyprus.
1. All candidates who have lived in the UK, must undergo and pass an
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

8. Awareness of Data Protection practices and importance to protect the
personal information of children and vulnerable adults.
9. A good knowledge of office-based IT is needed, including Microsoft Office
packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic filing practices.
10. The ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing is an
essential part of this role.
11. Hold a full driving licence and be prepared to self-drive an MT vehicle
(prepared to maintain or obtain FMT600 or MyDrive) across WSBA and
ESBA or occasionally in the Republic of Cyprus
Desirable 1. BSc Hons Degree in Nursing
2. Qualification or experience in minor injuries and illness assessment
3. Qualification or experience in Paediatric assessment
4. Experience of working within a DPHC overseas primary care setting or
equivalent Primary Care specialist training
5. Experience in ambulance dispatch
6. Experience at managing long term conditions with extended care
qualifications
7. Experience or knowledge of Standards for Student Supervision and
Assessment (SSSA)
8. Experience of independent vaccination administration
9. Experience of use of Patient Group Directives
10. Experience of delivering Travel health assessments and advice
11. DMICP experience
12. Greek language skills
13. Knowledge of the Cypriot Healthcare system

Brief Description of Role
To deliver primary healthcare services to the eligible personnel on a 24/7 rotational basis. This
includes triage for adults and children, assessment and management of minor illnesses and
injuries, health screening, management of chronic conditions, force health readiness, travel health
consultations, and providing telephone advice. Additionally, responsibilities encompass the supply
of medications under Patient Group Directions (PGDs), maintaining electronic patient records, and

processing electronic triage requests. The role also involves actively supporting the practice's
healthcare governance activities.
Responsible to
1. Professionally responsible to the SNO, accountable to the SMO.

• Assist and manage 112 call outs when required
• Triage & assess adult minor injuries/ailments including face to face, telephone or
electronic requests.
• Triage & assess child minor injuries/ailments including face to face, telephone or
electronic requests.
