The University of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Research Promotion Foundation, and the Programming Office, in their efforts to upgrade the research activity of Cyprus have established the Cyprus Research and Academic Network (CYNET) which aims to create an Internet infrastructure and provide advanced Internet services to research and academic users to support and upgrade research and academic activity in Cyprus.
The Internet infrastructure supports the interconnection of CYNET with the European research and academic network GEANT at 10+10 Gbps, and internally the connection at very high speeds and the provision of advanced service technology.
