Main duties:
- Design and teach a dynamic secondary Greek Language and Literature curriculum, predominantly for international learners studying Greek as an additional language while also supporting native speakers and mixed abilities.
- Develop linguistic proficiency, critical thinking, cultural awareness and appreciation of Greek literary heritage.
- Use inquiry-based learning, differentiation and student-centred teaching, including the IB Middle Years Programme where relevant.
- Create inclusive lessons for varied abilities and cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary learning, provide timely feedback and maintain accurate achievement records.
- Communicate progress to parents and leadership and participate in conferences, meetings and professional development.
- Contribute to literary clubs, debate, cultural events and language-enrichment activities.
- Follow all safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Greek Language and Literature or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Teaching certification and/or relevant secondary-level teaching experience.
- High proficiency in Greek and strong knowledge of Greek literature, history and culture.
- Strong communication, collaboration, flexibility, cultural sensitivity and reflective teaching practice.
- IB Middle Years Programme, other international curricula or private-school experience is an advantage.
- Russian, Ukrainian or Hebrew is an advantage.
- Appointment is subject to criminal-record, reference and other child-safeguarding checks.
Schedule:
- Nineteen classes per week, with working hours of either 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00 according to the timetable.
