Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Special Scientist (Researcher) – Energy Training and Programme Development.
Salary:
- €17.33–€26 gross per hour.
- Statutory contributions are deducted, and the 13th salary is incorporated into the stated rate.
Employment type:
- Part-time, six-month fixed-term contract, with possible renewal.
Work arrangement:
- On-site in Nicosia.
Main duties:
- Work with the photovoltaic research team to define the technical specifications for a centralised data platform.
- Design relational databases and data models for research information.
- Develop migration, parsing and import processes for existing databases and text files.
- Integrate multiple data sources and build reliable ETL and harmonisation workflows.
- Create a user-friendly interface for data retrieval and visualisation.
- Configure the supporting server environment and help connect visualisation tools such as Grafana.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree, or final-year Bachelor’s studies, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Informatics or a related discipline.
- Practical knowledge of SQL, relational databases, database design and data modelling.
- Python programming experience.
- Experience with ETL processes, data harmonisation and integrating multiple databases.
- Basic experience with REST APIs and frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Familiarity with Git; Grafana experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Working hours:
- Up to 30 working hours per month.
