About the Role
The Junior IT Support Specialist provides day-to-day technical support to employees and assists in maintaining the Company's IT systems, equipment and user environment.
The role supports the effective operation of hardware, software, user accounts, networks and workplace technology while ensuring that technical issues are addressed accurately and in a timely manner.
Role Scope & Responsibility
Works within established IT processes, procedures and security standards, with guidance available for complex or unfamiliar technical matters.
The role is responsible for resolving routine IT support requests, preparing and maintaining IT equipment, supporting user access and assisting with system and network-related activities while escalating complex technical issues where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to employees for hardware, software, system and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, printers and other IT equipment.
- Set up user accounts, email accounts, permissions and access to Company systems.
- Support the IT onboarding and offboarding of employees, including equipment preparation and access management.
- Troubleshoot common Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Assist with basic network, Wi-Fi and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Install and update approved software, applications and operating systems.
- Support routine system maintenance, updates and security-related activities.
- Record, track and follow up on IT support requests and technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, assets, licenses and assigned devices.
- Assist with IT equipment inventory and stock management.
- Follow established IT security, access-control and data-protection procedures.
- Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues to more experienced technical colleagues.
- Maintain IT documentation, user guides and support procedures.
- Support other IT-related tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
- Approximately 0–2+ years of relevant professional experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, Technical Support, Systems Administration or a related technical environment.
- Relevant internships, certifications, academic projects or practical IT support experience may also be considered.
Required Knowledge
- Foundational understanding of computer hardware, operating systems and common business software.
- Basic knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
- Basic understanding of user accounts, permissions and access management.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi.
- Understanding of common hardware, software and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Basic awareness of IT security, data protection and access-control principles.

Considered an advantage:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Exposure to Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing or helpdesk systems.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity and endpoint-security tools.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA or other IT certifications.
- Previous experience supporting users in a corporate environment.
Effort & Role Demands
The role requires regular technical concentration, troubleshooting and problem-solving across different hardware, software and user-support requirements. It involves managing multiple support requests, responding to technical issues in a timely manner and maintaining accuracy when configuring systems, equipment and user access. The position also requires frequent interaction with employees and the ability to communicate effectively with users who have different levels of technical knowledge.

Working Conditions & Schedule
- Full-time permanent position.
- Primarily office-based due to the hands-on nature of IT support.
- Regular computer use and technical troubleshooting are required.
- The role may involve moving, installing or setting up IT equipment and workstations.
- The position may require support across different Company offices or locations, where applicable.
- Occasional support outside standard working hours may be required for urgent technical issues, system changes or business-critical activities, where applicable.
Compensation
Initial salary positioning within the range is determined using objective, gender-neutral criteria relevant to the position, including relevant experience, demonstrated technical skills and knowledge, proficiency with relevant systems and technologies, and the level of independence demonstrated against the requirements of the role.
