Main duties:
- Own production Ubuntu and AlmaLinux environments, including web and mail services, hardening, firewalls, performance tuning and live troubleshooting.
- Design, migrate and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi, Proxmox and Hyper-V platforms, including storage, high availability and backup restoration.
- Lead TCP/IP, VLAN, routing and firewall design and diagnostics; pfSense and OpenVPN experience is valuable.
- Act as the escalation point during incidents, perform root-cause analysis and communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.
- Maintain runbooks and technical documentation in line with information-security management practices.
- Review infrastructure changes, set technical standards and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements:
- At least five years of hands-on production experience across Linux, virtualisation and networking.
- Experience as an escalation point in hosting, managed services, datacentre or regulated B2B environments.
- Methodical, calm and independent troubleshooting under pressure.
- Ability to document and improve operational processes.
- Clear English communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- RHCE, VCP, CCNA or CCNP certification is advantageous.
